Boris Dafov

Project Manager

Getting Started

I was always interested in small construction projects early in life.  Growing up in the Communist country of Bulgaria, I picked up the use of hand tools quickly and built custom furniture in my teen years.  I moved to the United States at the age of thirty three and started working for a construction company as a laborer, but quickly became a foreman for a commercial construction crew.  My personality and motivation always pushed me forward and at the age of 44, I went back to school at New England Institute of Technology to study architecture.  My goal was set to become an Architect.  I received my Bachelor’s degree in 2013.  I joined the graduate program at Roger Williams University and graduated in 2016 with a Master of Architecture degree.  In 2017 I started my career in architecture as an architectural designer a few months later, became a Project Manager.  In September of 2019, I was pleased to join the William Starck Architects, Inc. team.

Favorite Projects

Some of my favorite projects are Slater Mill Annex and Church Hill School in Pawtucket, RI, both adaptive reuses with historic components.  Another amazing project was Windward Pines at the Bay Pointe Club in Onset, MA which consists of 84 luxury homes, both single-family and duplex, in five different layouts.

I enjoy family outdoor activities and golfing.  I also enjoy home improvement projects and woodworking, as well as helping friends with residential construction projects.
